MUSIC NOTES
by jim on July 26, 2004
Celebrities like being entertained just as much as us mere humans, and they too travel around with portable DVD and CD players.
Actors have loads of time between takes, and even musicians like to kick back and groove to other artists' tunes. So who likes what, and are you in sync with your favorite stars?
Various celebrities have provided their own lists of favorite songs so let's take a look at what's causing them to shake their booties.
Pictured above is the lovely "Liz Phair" whose play list includes one of her own songs.
It's not on the list due to ego however; it's there compliments of John Cusack, who co-authored the list. "Higher Ground" by Stevie Wonder, and "Sweet Jane," by the Cowboy Junkies are also on the list.
No one is certain if they are a couple or just listen to music together, but it seems that Cusack, who chose Phair's "Never Said," for the list is playing it safe lest he never gets any sugar from that sweetie.
Cheryl Crow who is currently partnered with six-time Tour De France winner Lance Armstrong likes "The Needle and the Damage Done" by Neil Young, for example
adam sandler goes in for rougher edged stuff and provided a list of 35 titles, 11 of which carry the "explicit lyrics" warning. He also included "Straight Up" by Paula Abdul, so obviously he has varied tastes.
Not surprisingly Ruben Studdard's, entire play list is made up of Luther Vandross songs.
Kevin Bacon lists "Rosalita" by Bruce Springsteen, "Hey Ya!" by OutKast and "One Note Song" by Tenacious D.
James Patterson, author of "Along Came a Spider" includes "Rock the Casbah" by the Clash (I'm down with that one), "Come as You Are" by Nirvana and "Corduroy" by Pearl Jam.
Visit "Apple iTunes Celebrity Playlists" for a look at these and other celebrities' complete play lists.
