I can't believe it; there's going to be another "Star Trek" movie, and William Shatner isn't going to be in it!
Everyone, and I mean everyone, watched "star trek
" when it first came on the air in 1966. "Star Trek" was the first show I watched when I got my first color TV, which cost, I believe, about $369.00, for a 17" set, a lofty amount of money back in the late 60's.I recall the tremendous amount of anticipation for , "Star Trek: The Motion Picture", in 1979, and how impressed I was with the surround sound system in the theater.
"Star Trek" has come a long way, both on TV and in the movies, so now, 41 years after the first episode aired on TV, we have I think, the eleventh "Star Trek" movie set for release on December 25th, 2008, and Wynona Rider will be playing Spock's mother.
But there's no William Shatner in the next "Star Trek" movie, and you can tell from that article that he's none too happy about it.
Of course the gossip that Shatner will in fact be in the next "Star Trek" movie, along with fellow old timer Leonard Nimoy, have already started.
No one's fooling me on this. I know what it is that's keeping Shatner out of the movie, age discrimination.
Face it, everyone in the cast is pretty young, so it's obvious, especially when you realize that Shatner was born on March 22, 1931, whereas Leonard Nimoy was born on March 26, 1931.
You can see that this is clearly a case of age discrimination, everyone is younger than him.
