Everyone gossips, even those who say they don't, do.

Don't believe that? Well, even if someone couldn't care less about the inhabitants of Hollywood, or other public figures, they care about the actions of some people, and how those people affect their own lives.

If what george clooney, or Linsay Lohan, for example, says or does, doesn't interest someone, it doesn't mean that the same person isn't interested in what his or her boss is up to. Everyone speculates as to what the boss is up to, because it directly impacts his or her life.

The moment someone asks a co-worker for an opinion about what the boss is up to, we have the start of a gossip session.

Even big, burly, guys, who are perpetually on testosterone charged ego trips, engage in gossip. Every time these guys have a conversation about Derek Jeter's current performance, or whether or not so and so will be traded to the Raiders, or the Packers, they are gossiping.

So what's wrong with people talking about the lives of actors, or rock stars? There's nothing wrong with it, its just harmless speculation.

The Brits love their gossip, as shown by a recent poll, in which a combined total of 95% of men and women admitted to gossiping about celebrities.
