CELEBRITIES & GOSSIP

There's no end to the number of famous, and infamous people in the news these days, but what constitutes real fame?
According to Derek Jacobi, shown above, there's more fame in not being that well known.
This theory would not set well with the likes of Paris Hilton, who, for the most part, is famous for being famous, mostly because she's outrageous, and certainly not for any noteworthy accomplishment.
Jacobi, for example, has starred in many an award winning British production that, for the most part, has gone unnoticed except among those of us who are fans of rather offbeat characters, or historical period pieces. I'm that kind of fan, and I dare say so are many others, but we are not in the majority.
Here's what Jacobi has to say about the topic.
I guess what it all boils down to is whether a fan is a fan of a performer's lifestyle, or that person's work.
