But what does the future have to offer? Well, according to industry sources, not much, that is, celebrities may attend the Academy Awards naked.

I'm certainly in favor of a naked Charlize Theron or Estella Warren, or a patriotic Wynona Ryder, shown above, skipping down the red carpet, but please, no Ernest Borgnines!

It's funny to think that years ago actresses such as Ava Gardner shocked the world by attending the Oscars in gowns that revealed 20% flesh, mostly arms, according to a study conducted for The Odeon Survey.

The study has determined that today's actresses reveal 59% of their bodies, and that by 2010 that figure will rise to 75%.

At that rate, if my math is correct, full nudity should arrive at the 2021 Academy Awards.

I can't wait!
