As I've often said, you can find anything in Vegas, we do have a professional baseball team, "The Las Vegas 51's," named after the Federal Government's nearby "Area 51," the existence of which is still denied.
However, The 51's, is a minor league team and the desert town thirsts for a MLB team.
Efforts to secure a team have been made in the past, but this time around, popular Las Vegas Mayor, Oscar Goodman, a former high-profile defense attorney, made the journey to MLB's winter meetings, to pitch the town.
The meetings were highly confidential so no one is making book on the outcome, but the Mayor took along a couple of the town's typical representatives, to help convince MLB that Las Vegas knows how to play ball.
