He may have jumped Oprah's couch, divorced two well-liked women, criticized brooke shields, knocked up a chick 16 years or so younger than he, and promoted the rather mysterious and cult-like religion of Scientology, but Tom Cruise still brings in the bucks at theaters.

Because of that he has come out on top of "Forbes" magazine's, most powerful stars list.

So just what does that mean? Well, "Forbes" is about money, and as an example Oprah's empire is valued at $225 million, but it took her 20 years to accomplish that, whereas Tom raked in $67 million for "War Of The Worlds' alone.

He also cleared nearly the same amount for "MI3," and that represents power to "Forbes."
