TOM CRUISE ON IMPOSSIBLE MISSION

It's Tom Cruise bashing time again.
By now nearly everyone knows that Tom Cruise and Paramount Studios have gone their separate ways. Naturally, Paramount, headed by Sumner Redstone, states that Tom's erratic behavior is the reason, and
The talking heads are all reporting that Cruise's box office appeal has diminished and that his last movie bombed.
I don't think so.
Check out the numbers for "MI 3", as of July20. That's some serious cash that very few other "stars" can match.
I don't know what kind of math these people are applying to the figures, but the truth is that Cruise last two movies, "War of The Worlds," and "MI 3" have performed spectacularly.
The ridiculous rumors that his daughter, Suri doesn't exist are another example of the silliness the overpaid talking heads engage in. What's wrong with a parent acting protectively when it comes to their children?
If he brought her out and saw to it that she got on the cover of every magazine in the world he'd be accused of being a publicity hound.
Here's the link to a copy of Suri's birth certificate.
Gossip columnist, Michael Musto, a guy who knows less about women, let alone man/woman relationships, than most of us know about flying the space shuttle, thinks Cruise is weird when it comes to marrying Katie Holmes.
He, Musto, couldn't possibly understand the effect that the attentions of a gorgeous, 20 something woman would have on a 44-year-old guy.
Yet, Musto repeatedly knocks Cruise for taking up with a woman considerably younger than himself, when in fact, there's nothing at all wrong with it, legally, morally, or ethically.
Musto isn't the only clown zeroing in on Cruise for his ability to attract young honeys, it's being done by virtually every anal-retentive, couldn't get a woman if he was the last guy on Earth type.
It's nothing more than jealousy.
Cruise is still young, even in today's radically youth oriented society, he's been successful since day one, he's manly, handsome, and guess what, not publicly knocked by either of his ex-wives, which is a rarity.
People, especially men, are jealous of him.
He's also unafraid to come to the aid of others. Check out this posting, which will enlighten you about his good deeds.
It's more likely that Paramount would rather not deal with an older star, who, because of his success, can make demands that the studio can't or won't meet.
It's no secret that Hollywood has gone on the cheap lately. Look at the number of piss-poor remakes that have been released the past few years.
The reason for that is that the story is already in their possession and the studios need not purchase the rights to a fresh story.
When they're ready to get back to the business of "creation" rather than rehashing, I have the scripts they'll want!
Lost in this shuffle to is the distinct possibility that Cruise himself, or his management team decided that the star no longer needed Paramount.
This article purports to reveal the "real" reason Paramount dropped Cruise.
You can decide for yourself if it's accurate or just more corporate hogwash created by its publicists to cover up the loss of a tremendous asset.
So maybe Cruise was out of line when he flapped his yap about Brooke Shields, so?
OK, I'll get off the soapbox. I haven't engaged in a good rant in a long time and this was an opportunity I couldn't pass up.
Yes, I'm a Tom Cruise fan, no, he's not perfect, but then, neither is anyone else.
The reason I'm so wound up about this is the fact that I'm sick of the lies. It's one thing to gossip, that is speculate, but these guys are outright lying when they say Cruise's films are losing money.
Let's at least try to be accurate, especially when there's irrefutable evidence, such as box-office figures, that blow their assertions out of the water.
These guys count on no one checking the facts.
Cruise has made billions for Paramount, and they'll be sorry he's no longer on board.
