Tom Cruise, is he a wise man, a weird man, or both?
Having hit it big early on in life, Tom has always been a big-time, high profile, Hollywood player.
For years he was the handsome, daring, bon vivant, and led what appeared to be a normal happy life with very few bumps along the way. Yes, he did go through a divorce from Mimi Rogers, and then Nicole Kidman, but hey that's life, right?
OK, he did his goofy, "jump the couch" thing on Oprah. Maybe too much was made over a 44-year-old guy publicly proclaiming his joy over banging a hot chick 17 years his junior. I'm a guy, I understand, so I give him a pass on that.
However, of late he has emerged as a rather egotistical, self-proclaimed expert on such things as psychiatry. Uh-oh, that assertion seems nuts, since it doesn't appear that he possesses any scholarship in that field, or any other for that matter.
Whether or not his close association with The Church Of Scientology has anything to do with his recent erratic behavior is subject to speculation, but the coincidence is hard to ignore.
Something that's not too well known is that his first wife, Mimi Rogers, first husband, was a Scientology instructor. So this stuff seems to have been present in Tom's life for a long time, even if in a disconnected way.
The latest rumors about his still emerging, apparent male dominance type actions are reported in "The National Ledger".
However, Tommie boy still has his defenders, such as Simon Pegg.
Last night, on Keith Olberman's show, "Countdown," he mentioned that Cruise has now demanded sole custody, of his yet unborn son.
Can he do that?
There are also rumors that he and Katie are actually already married, for eight months, in a ceremony performed by officials of the Church Of Scientology.
Weird!
