British actress and hottie Thandie Newton has been snubbed by a number of Hollywood elites when she recently asked them to support her attempts to convince high-profile celebrities to switch to environmentally friendly cars.
Newton who has been in a number of highly successful movies, was hoping that her star status in England might carry some weight in America, but it appears that she isn't getting any cooperation for her cause.

The only American celebrity of note who has tried to raise awareness of the need to drastically reduce oil consumption is Bill Maher, but his efforts have also been largely ignored.

You should check out Daryl Hannah. Someone whom actually practices what she preaches (environmentally) – kind of rare today even for celebrities or non celebrities.
