TEENAGE GIRLS RULE!

TEENAGE GIRLS RULE!

It's good to be a teenage girl, especially if you can sing.

Avril Lavigne, pictured above, the hot 19-year-old Canadian pop star has just topped the charts with her second album, "Under My Skin."

The RCA/Arista album sold 381,500 copies the last week of May and catapulted it to the top spot on the Billboard 200. Not bad.

The words, "Don't try to tell me what to do, don't try to tell me what to say," from "Don't Tell Me," the third cut on the album seem prophetic for the young artist with a mature voice who so far has made all the right moves.

Her first album, "Let Go," has sold 14 million copies worldwide.

Next up is 16 year-old American Idol runnerup, Diana DeGarmo, who has secured a recording contract with RCA. A single will be released on June 22nd, with more to follow no doubt.

And of course, there's the other 19 year-old, American Idol winner, Fantasia Barrino, who signed with J Records, a subsidiary of RCA, will be featured on a single which will be released on June 15th.

Things are looking up for RCA as well.
