Tara Reid has fallen on hard times and is having a problem deciding which of her various personas she wants to project.

Her new TV show, "Taradise," has already been cancelled, and offers for movies have been withdrawn. Tara blames her now ex-publicist whom she claims is responsible for promoting her as a wild, drunken party girl.
In an interview by "Steppin Out" magazine she stated:

"How many more years are the media going to pick on me? There's other new, young, bad girls. Move on to someone else!

"I'm just fed up. I just want a chance again. I want to show that I am an actress.

People think I am just a party girl, and it's bullshit. I wish the media would just tell the truth.

I didn't want to look like a total party-girl drug retard. I'm not a drunk. I don't have a drinking problem. I don't have a drug problem, for sure."

OK, everyone has the right to defend oneself and take umbrage at inaccurate descriptions, but people judge others by using the available evidence.

For example, here' s a recent photo of Tara taken during a night of mild/wild partying with pal Paris Hilton.

She doesn't look very steady in that shot, keep her away from sharp instruments and please, no driving.

A short while ago Tara said that she prefers non-celebrity types as personal friends. In a recent interview with "Femalefirst" she said:

"I'm not really friends with that many celebrities. I'm good friends with Rosario Dawson but, when I'm not working, I want to be with regular people.

You can't have the celebrity thing at all times. It gets a bit too much.

If you go out with me, you will have the best time. I love to have a good time, I love to dance, so in that sense I guess I am the ultimate girl who goes out and has a good time with all her friends.

I make sure everyone around me is smiling, because that makes me happy. That's the good party girl, but the bad party girl, like stumbling around, that doesn't happen. That's not true."

So, just when you begin to feel that maybe she's not quite the vixen she has been portrayed as, she opens her mouth again and says this to "Steppin Out" magazine:

"Why is partying and having a good time bad?

There must be a journalist school where students are taught how to kill Tara Reid.

How come when someone else gets messed up or is a junkie or gets DUI'd and goes to rehab and is considered a hero again?"

She went on to say that she's hoping for a great movie role to impress people with her acting so they'll leave her alone.

There you have it, the revealing words of a confused mind. Only time will tell which Tara emerges from all this rhetoric.

My hunch is that she's not about to enter a convent any time soon.
