TITILLATING TV

Before TV people listened to the radio. The entire family would gather around a huge wood console radio, and stare at it, while listening. No, I was not one of those people. I'm not that old
Did you know that before radio a family's major source of entertainment was gathering around the fireplace? While absorbing its warmth, they would watch the fire dance around while listening to the crackling of the burning logs.
I wonder what they did for amusement during the summer when it was traditional to place flowers in the unused fireplace.
Maybe they sat around and watched the flowers die.
It wasn't that long ago that TV had an actual "season," which started in the fall, and consisted of about 26 weekly episodes.
The same shows were rerun during the summer and everyone watched the shows they hadn't watched during the regular season.
Now, anything goes. Shows start and stop at any time, and a "season" can consist of any number of episodes, and, if renewed, can restart at any time.
Well the "summer" TV season starts as early as this Friday, June 9, for some shows and this link will take you to a listing of what's on tap.
