We all know about "Sex And The City's" star, "Carrie," and her obsession with shoes, preferably those cobbled by Manolo.

In real life Sarah Jessica Parker also wears shoes, probably made by various designers, and some of those now adorn the tootsies of non-celeb women.

Last month a celebrity yard sale to benefit "The Fund for Public Schools," was held in the Big Apple's Central Park, and included thousands of items donated by area celebrities.

The 10,000 attendees waited upwards of 3 hours, which for New Yorkers is no big deal. The rewards were great however for shoppers who looked over the more than 300,000 items up for sale!

There were more than 3,000 pairs of shoes, which if my math is correct totals 6,000 individual shoes, 100,00 books, 20,000 lipsticks and 100,00 books.

Obviously this event was geared towards the ladies, men generally aren' t avid readers.

Besides Sarah, Bette Midler and Regis Philben items were in abundance.

Designer bags in near mint condition were snapped up at a buck a piece by the early birds, but my sources tell me that even during the late hours of the sale there were still many desirable items available at giveaway prices.

Anyone who wants a piece of the Stars should be aware that there will probably be a similar sale next year.

So make your plans to attend, and wear a pair of sensible shoes.
