Don't be surprised. How could she play tennis without them?

Serena Williams has been a success from day one, and recently the muscular, but swanky and seductive athlete became involved in the fashion industry.

Why not? At nearly 6 feet in height and 145 pounds, all of it good, she is model-like.

So the tennis Court Countess, who admits to having a fetish for shoes, not unlike most women, is now playing doubles with athletic shoe and sports clothes giant, Nike.

She appeared on court at the US Open a few days ago sporting a radically different type of stylish tennis apparel that raised eyebrows and the ire of The United States Tennis Association officials.

Her knee-high black boots were deemed "not customarily acceptable tennis attire," but in the end she was permitted to wear them during play.

She also wore a studded tank top and matching jean skirt and jacket, while easily sweeping aside her competitor.

The following day she again wore the boots but a pair of "micro shorts" replaced the skirt, and she won again.
