It has become a global phenomenon and still is not being highlighted despite a series of celebrity deaths. As per International Narcotics Control Board (INCB) annual report, the drug abuse of prescription drugs is more common as compared to abuse of illegal substances. This situation prevails across other Western countries also.
2009 witnessed the death of Brittany Murphy and Michael Jackson as a result of medication overdose. One major cause of concern is that people don't associate any kind of risk of using prescription drugs.
In the year 2008 alone, an estimated 6.2 million people abused prescription drugs. In order to curb this problem INCB has been asking countries to improve their monitoring and take action against those medical professionals which provide such medication unlawfully.
I find it criminal that these doctors , are not having their lic taken away.. this is for $$only they have void their oath and killing people.. we have no concequences anymore…..
