Here in Las Vegas poker has always been popular to some degree. However, the advent of the ritzy-glitzy, all electronic, music playing, gimmick ridden, game-show themed slot machines, about 15 years ago, put a dent in the table games, most notably poker.
But poker is back, big time, not only in Vegas, but all over the world.
Naturally celebrities are playing a big role in poker's popularity, and the ladies are taking the winnings home.
Jennifer Tilly, shown above, but not in her poker playing role, recently won the World Series of Poker bracelet, and she, along with other notables from the celebrity world, will compete at the "2005 London Open."
The event will be held during August 3-6 and promises to be well worth tuning in to.
