TITILLATING TV

Who says the U.S. doesn't like things French? We may no longer call fries French, but when it comes to money never let it be said that America's business leaders won't hop in bed with a tasty French morsel.
NBC, which is owned by G.E, bought Universal Entertainment, which is owned by Vivendi, a French conglomerate. Vivendi wanted to dump Universal and the sometimes-astute NBC execs who are hungry to become an even bigger conglomerate jumped on it.
NBC acquires The USA Network, Sci-Fi, CNBC, Bravo, a group of 29 television stations, and $1.7 billion of Vivendi's debt. Vivendi gets $3.4 billion and 20% of "NBC Universal," which is what plain old NBC will now be called.
So, what does all this mean to the TV viewing public? Uh, no one said. I guess it has something to do with money.
