Next U.S. President Is A Woman, In "24" At Least

News of the upcoming season's TV shows is starting to trickle in; and it's a bit confusing to this child of the
"TV" era since there aren't anymore clearly defined TV "seasons" anymore.
We still have the good old "Fall" TV season, during which most of the quickly cancelled, new TV shows debut, but for the past several years the better shows, that have proven track records, restart early in the year.
"24" is one such show, and although last year's episodes weren't as good as the prior year's landmark series, it was still one of the better offerings of the increasingly similar and boring network shows.
This is what I had to say in a posting I made on May 20 of this year:
"'24' is getting mighty repetitive with the same "plot twists" year after year.
The kidnapping
of key "CTU" personnel, a break in at CTU headquarters, a change in CTU's top management, another woman in Jack Bauer's life being killed or at least placed in peril, a nerdy, mild-mannered CTU desk jockey acting, for 30 seconds like a seasoned member of military special forces unit, attempts on the life of the President, and treachery in The White House happen every season."So the first bit of news is that actress Cherry Jones will play the role of President of the U.S..
OK, this a departure from male presidents but will that be enough to infuse new life into the series?
I doubt it so I look for a completely different storyline, perhaps with some foreign settings, at least I hope this season is different in more ways than the president's gender.
Here's what we know so far about the next season's "24".
