The South may have been butt-slammed by Hurricane Katrina but that didn't stop the MTV Video Music Awards from going off as planned.

Gwen Stefani, shown above modeling lipstick, won the Best Choreographed Video award. Yeah, I'll bet she' s got some fancy moves in her.

Other winners included popular american idol star Kelly Clarkson, who won the Best Female Video award, which should please Paula Abdul and company.

Ludacris won the award for the highly contested and much coveted Best Rap Video. Ya gotta love that name!

And, Green Day picked up seven awards, topped off by Best Video.
