OK, that's Tommy Lasorda, not Michael Jordan pictured on the sports card. Look closely on the right side and notice that Tommy autographed this card for me and sent it straight to my house in a matter of days.
Tom Lasorda is a baseball
legend and a true celebrity. He won the World Series in 1981 and 1988 with the L.A. Dodgers, and managed the U.S. Olympic baseball team in 2000, and won the gold medal. His on and off field antics have always entertained and amused me and when I saw that card I thought it would be perfect for an autograph and sent it to his home.
I didn't have to pay for it, or travel long distances with the hope of being one of the lucky few who might get an autograph from him at a ball park.
Here's a shot of a basketball autographed by Michael Jordan, the king of that sport. Neat huh?
These days if you want Mike's autograph you either have to pay a dealer an exorbitant fee or go to an event where he's scheduled to appear, hope that he shows up and then pray that you can get close enough to even see him much less secure an autograph.
Here's a story about a recent event he attended and the aggravation fans went through to try to get his autograph:
"American Century Championship Golf Tournament"
Instead of just dreaming about getting your items autographed by your favorite sports, TV, or Hollywood stars do it the easy way.
Visit "Movie Eye" and learn how to get their home addresses.
