MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM LAS VEGAS
Filed in archive CELEBRITIES & GOSSIP by jim on December 23, 2005
I'm departing from the usual format of reporting on celebrity activities so I can wish my loyal readers a very Merry Christmas and Holiday Season.
Here I am at The Bellagio, with my two keepers, my wife, Dolores, and my 88-year-old Mother-In-Law, Fedora, who is in better shape than my wife and me combined.
Fedora said if I ever put her picture on the Internet she'd go back to Italy, so we'll find out if she's a woman of her word.
I want to thank all of you for giving me the yearlong gift of reading my blog, and I hope you have been entertained by it.
I've been plagued with colds lately, so my wife grounded me, and I couldn't get out to take photos of this year's Las Vegas Christmas decorations. Therefore I'm posting photos from last year's outstanding display at The Bellagio Hotel & Casino so you can see what it's like here during the holiday season.
I just love these Christmas Bears. They are constructed entirely from flowers attached to wire frames, as are the other animals in the display. Time and speed is of the essence when these creations are assembled due to the fragility and perishable nature of the flowers. The florists put them together very quickly.
You can't have Christmas without a tree and the Bellagio provides one of the best you'll ever see.
The area in which the display is situated is styled after a European railway station complete with their distictive, unique, curved glass roof. It really is spectacular and allows natural light to illuminate the scene beautifully.
This space is actually an indoor garden, but it is decorated appropriately for all the major holidays such as Easter, Halloween, Thanksgiving, etc, in addition to Christmas.
Christmas balls
are a must for a proper display and The Bellagio has some big balls. I've never seen anything like these, have you? There's always something new to see or do in Las Vegas, and yesterday marked the opening of The South Coast Hotel & Casino
How about a reindeer on ice skates? You can find anything in Las Vegas!
Here's some more info about the holiday season in Las Vegas.
These are Christmas gifts my people sent me.
Unfortunately, my wife was home when they arrived, and she sent them back after telling them that I would be in too much pain, from yet to be sustained injuries, to play with any new toys.
For some holiday laughs check out, "Ugly Christmas Lights.com."
Again, have a safe and very Merry Christmas!
