Some Hollywood blockbusters involve more than just a movie.

In 2004 the Republicans and Conservatives, who like to be identified with God, embraced Mel Gibson because of his movie, "The Passion Of The Christ." The Right Wing cried foul when the movie was snubbed for Oscar consideration and the Red State politicians seized the opportunity to lambaste the Liberals, whom they portray as enemies of religion.

Now, Gibson's latest project, "Apocalypto", which chronicles the demise of the Mayan civilization, is said by Mel to have been inspired by the despot like, and fear mongering ruling style of President Bush.

Must be quite a letdown to Bush to be compared by a deeply religious and fairly Conservative guy to the bloodthirsty, murdering Mayan rulers.

Is it any wonder that Bush's popularity has dipped to 29% when guys like Gibson have lost faith in him?

The movie's premiere is planned for December 12th and promises to be worth the wait.

Here's a bit more on Gibson's announcement.
