First Lady, Laura Bush, has quietly trimmed down, according to her, "to keep up with the President's hectic schedule."

It's no secret that that the President is a fitness fanatic who engages in rigorous daily exercise, and one can readily note that he is obviously more physically than mentally fit.

Although her clothes are a bit rumpled in this photo, I'll bet that pants suit is made of linen, she looks a lot less puffy than in the past.

According to her she took up yoga, and engages in a Pilates routine, to help get trim again.

I'm glad I ran that last one by my wife; I always thought Pilates were some kind of California tofu drink.

My White House snoop tells me that Laura lost 20 pounds, "the old-fashioned way, that is, by watching her diet, and simple exercising.

She was never really fat and didn't have to "drop a ton," so for her, 20 pounds got her back into designer dresses without the need for any trussing up.

She also stated that she works out with a pair of dumbbells, which causes me to wonder if that means she exercises with her Daughters, or the President and Vice President.
