LAURA BUSH TRIES TO ACT LIKE REGULAR FOLK

First Lady, Laura Bush, attempted to present herself as just a regular chick this week when she made an appearance in Biloxi, Mississippi to offer 5 minutes of "help" to the hurricane victims.
The carefully orchestrated event which was filmed for a November episode of "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition," includes highlights such as the profound statement: "Obviously, there are so many homes to be remade over here," uttered by the First Lady.
Laura was filmed putting on a corporate sponsor's logo emblazoned apron, and listened to the victims storm stories while handing out clothes donated by other people.
With her husband's ratings rapidly going down a Halliburton supplied toilet, it was time for the White House to show it's softer, compassionate side. The NFL does this too by rolling out the cheerleaders while the EMTs tend to a brain-damaged player.
One has to wonder just what the costs to the taxpayers for this ridiculous photo op amounted to, considering the security measures, and transportation expenses for what probably was an enormous entourage.
Wouldn't this money have been better spent on things that the Hurricane victims actually needed?
Oh, silly me, that would have been real help, without any benefit to the donor.
Here's the story as reported by TV station "KLFA," and "TheSeattleTimes.com."
