With only a little more fanfare than a garage band releasing its first single, on an obscure label, Nicole Kidman's wedding to Keith Urban will occur today, in Sydney.

Kidman's best friend, Naomi Watts, arrived last week to tend to the bride, and a list of some of the better-known attendees can be found here.

While the event isn't creating much of a stir in the U.S.A., there is considerable excitement in Australia, as reported in this story.

Her ex-husband, Tom Cruise, and I, will not be in attendance.

Although Tom has been invited, he isn't expected, for obvious reasons. I don't travel well, especially on 13-hour air trips, and my people tell me that I didn't receive an invitation because Nicole was aware of that, and didn't want to impose.
