Now that the outrageous rumors about Tom Cruise baby being an alien and so forth are, hopefully, history, it's time to check in with the guy and see what he's been up to, aside from his Scientology endeavors.

Tom Cruise recently appeared at a private dinner in Manhattan to raise money for the "New York Rescue Workers Detoxification Project." Cruise founded this organization in 2002 to help first responders who are afflicted with lung problems due to exposure to toxic substances caused by the 9/11 tragedy.

Here's the story.

Meanwhile Cruise's wife, Katie Holmes, is apparently reconnecting withhold friends in her home state of Ohio, and supposedly wants her daughter, Suri, to attend Catholicism classes.

Everyone knows that Katie's family is comprised of devout Catholics and when she hooked up with Cruise, a devout Scientologist, problems evolved.

It seems to me that religion, which is supposed to bring people together in a peaceful way, causes problems among people.
