Here's a guy who' s been around for quite a while and yet his name isn't widely known. Chances are however, that you've seen him in a movie or on TV.
I first became aware of John McGinley many years ago while viewing "Platoon" for the first time.
Since Charlie Sheen, Tom Berenger, Kevin Dillon, and Willem Dafoe are in the movie, along with bunch of other soon to be stars such as Forest Whitaker, and Keith David, one did not take much notice of McGinley, even though he had a prominent role.
I doubt McGinley looses much sleep over the lack of notice though. Johnny Depp was also in the movie and to the best of my knowledge didn't utter so much as a word in the movie, and he's done pretty well for himself.
McGinley is not the kind of celebrity who engages in off screen behavior worthy of the tabloids, but he has achieved something worthy of note.
He is a devoted father to his 5-year-old son, Max, and has been named " Dad Of The Month" by "iParenting.com."
