Another high profile celebrity, J.K. Rowling, the Harry Potter author, has issued a statement against the extremes many of today's young women will go in order to be thin as a rail.

Here is what she had to say about it in, The Mirror.co.uk.

When Twiggy, shown here, first hit the fashion scene in the 60's, her appearance was shocking to many, although her war, waif-like personality quickly won the hearts of people the world over.

In that era of more full-figured, non-athletic women, she was considered anorexic, even though the term was not yet popularized. Today, she would seem quite well nourished by comparison to the likes of Nicole Richie, and Teri Hatcher.

It's starting to look like there's a growing trend towards more, "average, normal-bodied," women.
