OK, so I'm a Z-list celebrity, and only in my own house, but hey, if I'm to be catapulted to Y-list status I have to toot my own horn once in a while.

First off I want to sincerely thank all my loyal readers who have made "The Celebrities Weblog" a success.

Because of your support I've been given an additional assignment, and although the official launch is a few days off, I'd like you guys to have an advance look at Creative Weblogging's latest venture, the "Playtime Las Vegas" blog.

The "Playtime Las Vegas" blog will bring you all the gambling and other news about Las Vegas you'll need to help make your visit here the best travel and vacation experience you've ever had.

My goal is to dig out and report the lesser known stories and insider tips as well as the latest mainstream news that will enhance your Las Vegas gambling and entertainment experience.

Coverage will include all types of gambling including what the big boys and girls, or, "whales" as they are called, have been up to. These are the guys who used to be called "high rollers."

I'll also keep you posted on everything else that Las Vegas has to offer including entertainment, shopping, dining and cultural events.

There are also many nearby attractions, most within an hour's drive or less, that I know you'll want to check out.

Las Vegas is a rapidly changing, dynamic city that adapts to the demands of its clientele. There are always new casinos under construction and existing ones being updated to reflect the latest trends.

I'll be your "friend in the business," and keep you updated on the latest happenings and offer my advice on where to go, and what to avoid.

Las Vegas Mayor, Oscar Goodman, announced today that new linking roads will be built to make travel to the downtown area easier.

The downtown area is already undergoing extensive renovation and when complete, it, along with the new "Freemont Street Experience," will offer visitors an actual Las Vegas within Las Vegas.

Check in with "Playtime Las Vegas" for progress reports on that exciting project.

Even if you've visited here as recently as a year or two ago you'd be amazed at the changes you'll see, and they're all for the better.

In the photo above you see my Wife, Dolores, and yours truly, in the slot area at the Green Valley Ranch Hotel and Casino. This is a spectacular, off Strip property, frequented by celebrities who prefer to stay low key.

At that moment we were observing her mother investing her Social Security check in the local economy.
