Despite mild denials from both George Clooney, and Terri Hatcher, Terri Hatcher, it's beginning to look as if the two are dating.

The pair has been spotted several times at restaurants, and since they are not engaging in any joint creative efforts, the natural assumption is that they are personally involved.

George Clooney, an outspoken Liberal, had some choice comments during the Golden Globe Awards about disgraced Washington lobbyist/felon Jack Abramoff.

His remarks about Abramoff's parent' s choice of the first name, "Jack," combined with a last name that ends in "off," drew sharp criticism from the elder Abramoff.

One of his remarks really struck me as particularly ridiculous: "We have had to endure two years of unmitigated, outrageous falsehood directed at my son and his record of achievement on behalf of his clients and friends."

I suppose that the elder Abramoff missed that little bit of reality on January 3rd, when his son, of whom he is so proud, pled guilty to charges of conspiracy, fraud and tax evasion.

He was also affronted by Clooney's choice of language to describe his felon/son, which, by the way, was not in the least bit profane.

Abramoff's old man should review the emails authored by his foul-mouthed son, in which he gleefully describes success, using truly obscene terms, in carrying out his criminal activities, which secured ill-gotten fortunes, for his, "clients and friends," as described by the proud parent.

People like Abramoff's father, who is so insulted at the harmless, and humorous remark Clooney made regarding his family's name, should realize that he lives in a glass house.

He would do well to bear in mind that his son is a self confessed felon.

His beloved son is guilty of crimes that interfered with the operations of the Federal Government, led to the corruption of numerous members of Congress, defrauded the country out of millions in taxes, and adversely affected the economic lives of his fellow Americans.

I bring this up only to point out that celebrities, whose opinions on non-entertainment matters are subjected to non-stop bashing by the Conservatives, do us a service by keeping important issues in the news.

Anyway, back to happier items.
