Celebrity bailouts from debt are nothing new of course, as this list of British and American bankrupts reveals.

I was surprised to see Bill Roache, charter cast member of " Coronation Street," listed as a 1999 bankrupt. I was a huge fan of that show when I had satellite access to it compliments of CBC Canada.

He never stuck me as exciting enough to do anything that would result in bankruptcy, including overindulging in antiques purchases at out of the way country auctions.
