The term "Rock Star" has many connotations these days.

Yes it still applies to the genuine rock star, no matter what the music genre, but anyone who has reached the top of his or her game, and lives an exorbitant life, is said to be a "Rock Star."

You don't hear much these days about celebrities trashing hotel rooms; in fact, the last attack on property I'm aware of was made During December 2006 , on a hotel Christmas tree, by Keifer Sutherland.
