Paying celebrities to perform at private parties is nothing new but these days' popular performers stand to make a fortune for an hour's work.
george michael will be paid approximately $1.5 million bucks for a one hour performance at Phillip Green's 55th birthday party.
Who is Phillip Green? He's a guy who owns some stores in England that generate enough income for him to be able to afford this kind of extravagance.
Jeez, most people are just glad to go to a party even if they're asked to bring their own booze and CD's.
In other George Michael news, a judge whams George Michael for not showing up in court to face, what I guess is a charge of "sleeping in a parked car."
