ELVIS, STILL THE KING

You can't take it with you, but you can still make it, money, that is.

Of course you have to be famous, and dead to make this list but fame is fame and once again, The King, Elvis Presley, tops the charts.

"Forbes" magazine, which is all about money, maintains a "Top 100 Dead Celebrities List," and last year Elvis earned $37 million, from the grave.

Number two on the list is "Peanuts" creator, Charles Schulz, who ran the registers to the tune of $28 million. John Lennon and Dale Earnhardt were in a dead heat for third place with a mere $20 million each.

Famed rapper, Tupac Shakur, dead for six years, has released more albums dead than alive, and sold 2.7 million last year netting his estate $7million. Tell me he isn't rolling over in his grave.

Of course "Forbes" also keeps track of the living, and their money.

Mel Gibson, thanks mostly to his movie about death is on top of "The Top 100 Celebrities," list. He's followed by Tiger Woods who made $80 million playing golf.

Oprah Winfrey, Tom Cruise, and Michael Jordan are next, and would you believe the venerable former NFL coach, John Madden, even though he looks half dead, made the list. Maybe he qualifies for both.
