MOVIE MATTERS

It's often said that, "No man is an island," which is a quote from John Donne's, "Meditation XVII." However, some men, and women, can own an island, and you don't have to be in Aristotle Onassis' league to do it.
If you want real privacy and have a mere few million one can buy their own little piece of the world, completely surrounded by an ocean.
That's what the one time flamboyant, and now reclusive Johnny Depp just did.
The "Pirates Of The Caribbean" star recently coughed up $3.6 million for a 45-acre island, in the Caribbean of course. It's accessible only by boat, plane, or seaplane, which is the long way of saying you can't just drive up to it.
While owning an island is not all that unique or new among celebrities, Brooke Shields, Tony Curtis, and Nicholas Cage, for example also rule their own island domains, it is becoming a more fashionable method of escaping prying eyes.
Don't worry though, no matter what they do, your Creative Weblogging's, "Celebrities and Gossip" columnist has his ways of finding out what the stars are up to.

Johnny Depp is such a star in his own right. This island thing could possibly be just a passing phase. Anyone with his talent doesn't need that kind of privacy.
I make a point of seeing all of his movies simply because he knows how to be an actor.
Good Luck in Paradise!

I would bet that in the future he will tire of it like any other novelty.
Johnny Dep will always be a status star in movies and in all his endeavors.
He's a hit with me.
