Rose Rock, the mother of one of my favorite comedians, Chris Rock, claims she was the victim of racial discrimination.

The incident occurred at a South Carolina Cracker Barrel restaurant.

Ms. Rock said that she and her daughter were the only Blacks in the establishment and endured a wait in excess of 30 minutes after being seated before a waitress appeared.

Cracker Barrel, as a chain, has had problems along these lines in the past involving Blacks, and other minorities, as well as gays.

The Reverend Al Sharpton has lent his support to Ms. Rock and it appears that a lawsuitwill be filed.

It's hard to accept that this form of despicable behavior still exists in America. However, if the recent racially motivated, public remarks made by Senator George Allen of Virginia are an example of what our "role models" are capable of, how can we expect "ordinary" citizens to act with proper demeanor?
