CELEBRITIES & GOSSIP
by jim on May 8, 2007

When I was a kid my father told me not to try to figure out girls or women. He said it would make me crazy. Like most kids I rarely listened to my parents, and now when people tell me I'm crazy, I tell them it's from trying to figure out women. That usually convinces them that they're right about me.
My wife always looked much younger than she was. In fact, when one of my uncles first saw me with her, about 250 years ago, he pulled me aside and told me the cops would pick me up for hanging out with jailbait.
She was 26 at the time.
I always thought she was beautiful, and didn't need makeup, but she insisted that it was the way to go and applied it sparingly. At least I learned that you can't tell a girl from New York City how to present herself.
She still looks good to me by the way.
Personally I always thought that most women overdid it in the makeup department; to me a more natural look is preferable, but I have to confess that the "dark eyes" look always drove me nuts.
"People" magazine has convinced some world-class beauties to bare their faces and let everyone see what they look like without the war paint.

As for wearing makeup and self esteem, I'm not one of those petty women who feel the need to get up two hours early just to put on makeup for class, work, or for everyday living. That's just sad if your self esteem depends on whether people like you for what you don't look like.
