It's one thing for a dead celebrity's movies, music, or whatever, to continue bringing in the bucks, but now dead celebrities are endorsing new products!

It's no secret that famous people sometimes market themselves in every possible way, by writing books for example, or at least claiming to have authored a book that was actually written by a ghostwriter.

But usually, celebrities simply endorse products, as I pointed out here.

But now there's a new twist in the marketing game, and it seems to have started with the use of dead celebrities having their persona associated with wine.

Frank Sinatra, and Marilyn Monroe, to name two, now have posthumously endorsed wine.

How does that work? Is there an advertisement that reads: "Hey, I know someone who knew Frank, and he says that if he were alive, he'd get soused on this swill."

Or, maybe: "If Marilyn Monroe could speak from the grave she'd say she was proud to have her name on this bottle of wine."

Of course living, breathing celebrities have gotten into the wine producing business, and here's the link to the story.

Anyway, if you have a serious interest in fermented grapes, check out Tammy's excellent blog, "Celebrate Wine".
