CELEBRITY LAWSUITS

Turn on the TV and surf around for a few minutes. I'll bet the farm that there will be a lawyer, or a show of some kind about lawyers, on at least one of the channels.
You can't get away from them because they've managed to inject themselves into every aspect of our lives. From birth, having a trust fund set up, if you' re born into a rich family, to death, better execute a will. There's always a lawyer who wants to get his or her name on the "pay to" line of your checks.
Celebrities make extensive use of legal services, or, lawyers make themselves indispensable to celebrities, however you want to view it.
This week's celebrity cases are:
The firm that market's Jessica Simpson's name is suing another company for copyright infringement.
It should be noted that the soon to be divorced
Simpson did not enter into a pre-nuptial agreement with Nick Lachey. Now, under California's community property laws she will have to give him half of her post-marital earnings.I hate to say it, but she should have seen a lawyer. I heard it was against her religious beliefs and upbringing to enter into a pre-nuptial agreement. That makes her even dumber than I previously thought.
Chris Cornell, of SoundGarden, is suing his ex-wife, Susan J. Silver, who was also his manager, for screwing him, but not the other band members.
He accuses her of diverting funds belonging to him to the other guys. Hmmn, wonder why she would do that?
Kevin Costner is suing Ascendant Pictures for breach of an oral contract. Good luck with that one, Kev, it's hard enough getting a written agreement enforced, after the lawyers explain what the words really mean.
As Shakespeare said: "First thing we do, let's kill all the lawyers." He actually meant that as a tribute. I prefer it in the literal sense.
