Celebrities are into blogging too, and I don' t mean the ones who have someone else do it for them. I' m talking about the stars who write and maintain their own blogs, just like regular people.

They do it for a variety of reasons besides self-promotion. Many have an interest in a particular topic or pastime they want to share, and some have statements to make, about politics or the environment, for example.

I don' t know who the first true celebrity blogger was but it seems that most people agree that it was Wil Wheaton of Star Trek fame. He maintains a very interesting and diversified blog that he updates on an almost daily basis.

Being able to keep up with the life of a busy celebrity on a day-to-day basis is really cool. You'll discover that these guys have the same problems and concerns that the rest of us have to deal with.

Wil's blog has a huge following and you can post messages on it and interact with his other fans, the same as you can on the Creative Weblogging blogs.

He has an extensive photo gallery in which you can share his, and his wife, Anne's, travels and adventures, most of which benefit charitable causes. Wil is an excellent writer, is extremely computer and Internet savvy, and has an outstanding sense of humor.


Melanie Griffith has a highly professional and interesting blog that she updates regularly. Besides the journal itself you'll find a photo gallery, a section called "Goddess Giving" where she details her charitable causes, and of course her biography and a listing of her work.

Her "Story Of avalon" section is devoted to Melanie' s personal methods of "escape" from the rigors of life and includes meditation videos and other aids to help one relax and shake off stress.
