CELEBRITIES & GOSSIP

Defining the expression, "long-term," is relative, especially when applied to personal relationships.
My first marriage lasted about 4 years, and when it ended, both our families were shocked, and considered its endurance to be incredibly short.
These days, 4 years is considered a pretty good run, and in Hollywood, 4 years could be considered epic.
My current marriage is nearing its 34th year, so far so good, we'll see if I can continue to stay out of trouble.
Although my wife and I consider our relationship to be long-term we constantly run into people who have been married for more years than we've been alive!
There are some long-term relationships in Hollywood, such as that of Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward, but it does seem that such couplings are a thing of the past.
From what I can see it seems that the marriage killer is living life in the spotlight and here's an excellent article that agrees with that theory.
This article on "Netscape Celebrity" highlights the highest profile breakups and has a plethora of links covering the main players.

I really could not understand why Hollywood couples are so immature with regards to their relationships. Is it really becoming a trend? I always admire the relationship of Jess and Nick and I pity them for their love lost.
