There are rumors that "The Boss," Bruce Springsteen, is dancing in the dark with a 9/11 widow, perhaps trying to regain some of the glory days of his youth.

As expected, there are conflicting reports ranging from, "everything is peachy," to, "The Boss has taken up residence in the barn on his farm."

I'm sure we'll soon know enough if Springsteen and longtime wife/band mate, Patti Scialfa, are headed to divorce court.

Here's a blast from the past for me. The story as reported in "The Star-Ledger", a newspaper that was a mainstay at my house in New Jersey, when I was a kid.

All this Sringsteen stuff brings back memories of the Jersey shore, where Bruce and Scialfa lived, along with Steve Van Zandt, who moved there from Boston at an early age.

I recall plying the boardwalks at night, and stopping at some of the gin mills where they played, never thinking they'd become "all that."

I also spent a lot of time fishing down there, mostly unsuccessfully. It's bluefish season now, and that's one of the few things I miss about the old place.
