MUSIC NOTES

I wasn't going to write about Britney Spears MTV Music Awards disaster, but living in Las Vegas, where it happened, has made it impossible for me to pass on it.
Britney just can't stay out of the news and even though all of it has been negative she continues to get jobs that pay big bucks, and it seems that she has now made Las Vegas her second home.
Spears has had a long term relationship with the Maloof family, owners of The palms hotel and Casino, where this year's MTV Music Awards Show was held, and one has to wonder if they had anything to do with her being billed as the headliner.
She was the celebrity guest at the opening of the LAX night club; see yesterday's posting, and has popped up here and there the past few months, at 100 grand and more per pop.
Of all the criticism Spears received, such as her appearance, I think it was her performance, as you can see in this video that deserved the biggest boos. It was lifeless, and, well, just plain amateurish.
Of course there was more than Britney Spears to observe at the MTV VMA's, such as the brief fight between Pamela Anderson's ex-husband's, Kid Rock and Tommy Lee.

I really think it's sad that mtv set her up to fail, which is what happened. Mtv knew that if they nixed her performance with Chris Angel , the one she was practicing, she would screw up. I feel that also allowing Sarah Silverman to talk that way about her kids was ridiculous, say what you want about her but leave her kids out of it. The ONLY reason I even watched the VMA'S was to see her kick ass and have a great show so she could possibly move on, but instead I watched her screw up. What pisses me off is that she only had a few days to reherse her new routine and then everyone totally rips her apart for it not being good. That's unfair, she wasn't ready and instead of telling her that and letting Kanye open, MTV lets her perform so she can bomb, because it's really good for ratings. I feel that MTV used her so people would watch the crappy award show. She is going through so much and they allowed her to be a spectacle. Shame on MTV.

Hi: I think it's time for the media to leave this young woman alone. She has serious emotional and personal problems to work out in her life, and 2 sweet boys to raise. Her career will be ok,if everyone would give her the love and support she needs right now.She has a lot on her plate, and I also beleive she may do harm to herself,if the harrasement does not stop. She is human,we all make mistakes, and she needs peace in her life, and GOOD friends to help. Then things will fall back into place when their meant to.Good Luck Britney, take some time sweetie, and get back on track. It will take time, but love your babes, and be with people who care about you,and your boys. Gayle.....
