MUSIC NOTES
by jim on March 16, 2007

Brad Delp, lead singer and guitarist for the rock group, "Boston", also committed suicide last week.
Delp killed himself by inhalation of carbon monoxide fumes, and even had a backup plan should that attempt fail. I guess he really wanted to be dead.
He left several notes and letters and described himself as, "A lonely soul."
As was the case with Richard Jeni, Delp was found by his girlfriend.
You know, these celebrity suicides, by, I admit, less than A-Listers, still gives me cause to wonder why they did it.
I recall years ago when guitarist Danny Gatton killed himself, how I felt that it was such a waste of tremendous talent.
I always wanted to play the guitar, and I own three damn good ones. Unfortunately, owning a Gibson Les Paul, and a Fender, and an Ibanez, isn't enough to make someone a guitar player, as I discovered.
My paternal grandfather played several instruments as did my father, who actually made a bit of a living as a piano and stringed instrument player when he was very young.
I murdered a saxophone when I was in high school but my father always encouraged me during our duets. Obviously musical interest runs in my family, but the talent seems to have ended with my old man.
Once, at my house, when he was in his late eighties, my father picked up one of my electrics, switched on the amp, and played it better than I ever did, and that was the first time in his life he had ever even touched an electric guitar.
The thought that someone as accomplished as Danny Gatton would just off himself, when in my opinion he had everything to live for, is still a mind blower for me.
But who knows what goes on the deepest recesses of someone's mind. Brad's suicide note stated that he was lonely, but he had a girlfriend, in fact, they were engaged.
I'm not a shrink, but I guess it's safe to say that there are different kinds of loneliness, not just loneliness for a special person in one's life.
We may have star envy, and think that celebrities have everything going for them, even those whose best days are long over, but they too can long for something unobtainable. It's too bad though, that sometimes people do something unnecessarily drastic, rather than face and solve the problem, either by themselves, or with help.
So the next time you're down, and things seem as if they can't get any worse, remember that these feelings can creep into anyone's life. Just keep going, don't give up, and get help if it's too much to face alone.
Here's the news story.

I've got some news on an upcoming star!
Her stage name is Lindy Lopez.
She's modeled before.
She just finished filming a scene from a movie
that will come out this spring. (Summer, the latest).
She's currently working on an album that she will
be releasing soon. She's friends with some celebrities
like Samantha Falk, Jamie-Lynn Spears, Nicole Richie;
just to name a few. I talk to her everyday.
She's really nice unless you annoy her - she'll block you.
For all you other artists out there, I know she's looking
for some possible collaboration.
Her Personal Myspace - http://www.myspace.com/poisonous_insanity
I've searched her name in the Myspace database & have found
a few other profiles. She says she rarily uses her fan and music space.
The quickest way to get a response from her is to send her a message.
She'll reply to comments from tim
