Las Vegas hosted it's usual bevy of celebrities last Saturday.

Matt Damon, who has become a most welcome regular in Vegas hosted a dinner at "Fix," in The Bellagio, with his girlfriend, Luciano Barroso. Also attending his party was rising star, Eva Mendes, who visited here for a week with Damon, last New Year's Eve.

Can anyone say, "ménage a trois?"

Hey, yours truly was at The Bellagio too! Ok, ok, I was there two weeks earlier with my wife and mother-in-law, to see their fabulous Christmas decorations.

Matt apparently thought I had a previous engagement, and didn't want to put me on the spot by inviting me to his shindig.

Other notables spotted celebrating the holidays here were, Drew Carey, Adrian Brody, Luis Miguel, and the members of "Maroon 5," who played blackjack at The aladdin's high limit area after their concert.

However the big news arises from lesser star, Anna Nicole Smith, who was being filmed around town by a reality TV crew.

Acting as if it was Mardi Gras time, Anna Nicole entertained the crowd from the balcony of "The Joint," at The Hard Rock Café, with continuous flashing and skirt lifting.

In order to preserve her dignity, and that of the town, and to avoid the scandal of a Janet Jackson-like Nipplegate, Anna, exercised her usual discretion, and applied something akin to duct tape to her baby-feeders.

Then again, perhaps they were somehow damaged and the duct tape was used as a quick fix, a la a quick home repair?

Despite the gaiety, Smith did take a big hit in court a few days earlier. A three-judge panel from San Francisco' s U.S. 9th Circuit Court Of Appeals ruled that she is not entitled to the $88 million she was previously awarded, as the widow of 90-year-old J. Howard Marshall II.

Wow, like her or not, one has to admire someone who can take a loss like that in stride.
